TridentCare has developed a unique service option that saves our Laboratory services customers up to 60% of the cost for all routine testing. By having facility staff perform the specimen collection function, TridentCare Lab Outreach Services address the needs of the doctors, the nurses, and the patients, while reducing costs with our mobile health diagnostic lab services.

In addition, this program provides for Limited Patient Interactions to better impact infection control outcomes during this time of pandemic.

Utilizing custom software, next-day air services, and our state-of-the-art laboratories, we are able to report routine laboratory results in a timely, accurate, and cost-effective manner. Specimens collected today are resulted out by midday tomorrow.

This model addresses 95% of the facility’s laboratory needs. In situations where the test results are required sooner, the facility will still have to take the samples to the local hospital to be run as STAT.

How It Works

Order: The nurse creates an order online through our laboratory information system, selects the patient from a retained database, indicates the needed tests with symptoms, and prints out the requisition.
Collect: On the requisition is a list of the required tubes that the nurse will need to draw. The care facility nurse then collects the required sample.
Label: After collecting the sample, the nurse simply labels the tube, places the requisition and sample in the provided packaging, and applies the FedEx label.
Ship: FedEx picks up the package and delivers it to our laboratory.
Results: Testing is completed and the results are faxed to the facility. Critical results are called to the nursing staff to further ensure that the patient’s needs can be addressed as quickly as possible.

Quality Assurance

Quality assurance has never been more vital. TridentCare’s Quality Assurance Team (including board-certified clinical pathologists, corporate medical director, regional medical directors, executive management, corporate compliance officer as well as divisional management) holds monthly quality improvement meetings.

Organism Occurrence Reporting

Having detailed organism occurrence reporting is a critical tool in the effort to reduce the spread of infections within facilities. TridentCare provides detailed Infection Occurrence Reports to your nursing staff, reported out by unit, patient, and organism.

Billing

If the patient is covered under Medicare Part B or Medicaid, TridentCare will bill those payers directly. All other testing will be billed to the facility.
